Detail:
This training is designed for practitioners working with children and families, who may be required to attend child protection conferences and core groups. Delegates are expected to have completed the Working Together: Everyone’s Responsibility prior to booking onto this course, so they are familiar with local processes and the Threshold document. Please make sure this course is suitable for your role.
Learning Outcomes:
- Understand the purpose and function of Child Protection Conferences
- Understand the roles and responsibilities of agencies
- Recognise potential barriers to communication and how to overcome these
- Develop awareness of the involvement of children and families
- Develop skills and knowledge to implement and evaluate effective multi-agency protection plans
During the training you will be asked to work in breakout rooms with other practitioners to consider the information required to complete a report for an Initial Child Protection Conference based on a case study, as well as take part in other interactive activities. To promote engagement, please keep your cameras on when working in breakout rooms to support interaction with the group.
Course materials will be available to download 10 days before the event. A copy of the slides and links to documents and further readings will be available after completing your evaluation.
Safeguarding training is of high importance and as a partnership we need to be satisfied that the learning outcomes have been achieved before providing a certificate off attendance. Any delegate joining more than 15 minutes late for training will not be eligible for a certificate and will be asked to rebook.
