Detail:
This is a multi-agency course designed for staff with particular and specialised responsibility for safeguarding children and young people. The training is for staff across all sectors, who contribute to assessing, planning, intervening and reviewing the needs of a child where there are safeguarding concerns.
We ask that you attend this course first, in order to provide a consistency of knowledge and understanding of child protection concepts, knowledge, thresholds and referral procedures across the workforce, before booking onto other Level 3 courses.
Learning Outcomes:
- Learn about the legislation, guidance and practice underpinning keeping children safe
- Consider the vulnerabilities that put children at risk of harm
- Understand the lived experiences of children and listening to their voice
- Learn about the categories and indicators of child abuse and neglect
- Understand how to respond to concerns
- Explain the thresholds for support and intervention
- Know how to make a referral
During the training you will be asked to take part in various interactive activities. To promote engagement, please keep your cameras on when working in breakout rooms to support interaction with the group.
Course materials will be available to download 10 days before the event. A copy of the slides and links to documents and further readings will be available after completing your evaluation.
Safeguarding training is of high importance and as a partnership we need to be satisfied that the learning outcomes have been achieved before providing a certificate of attendance. Any delegate joining more than 15 minutes late for training will not be eligible for a certificate and will be asked to rebook.
