(2024) Domestic Abuse (Level 1)

Detail:

A key priority for the statutory partners is to reduce the adverse impact of domestic abuse on children and families. It is a key feature within many child safeguarding practice reviews and there is a high volume of contacts and referrals to children's services.

Children and unborn babies living in households where there is domestic abuse may suffer harm directly or indirectly and domestic abuse is likely to have a damaging impact on their health and development.

This course is suitable for practitioners working across Derby and Derbyshire and aims to give professionals an introduction to domestic abuse, share local responses and policies and procedures. It is recommended that delegates complete this course first before booking onto the Level 3 course that looks at the impact of domestic abuse on children.
