Level 4 Training for Headteachers / Designated Safeguarding Leads, Managers and HR staff

This course is suitable for Headteachers, Designated Safeguarding Leads, Managers and HR staff who have a responsibility for managing allegations against a member of staff. The multi-agency training is designed to give delegates a greater understanding of managing allegations of abuse against those who work, volunteer or come into contact with children and young people.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify the behaviours that could lead to an allegation being made
  • Identify the difference between care and criminal thresholds when an allegation has been made
  • Know the behaviours that indicate a practitioner is unsuitable to work with children
  • Know the key roles and responsibilities of other agencies if allegations are made against staff, carers or volunteers
  • Understand how to access and apply local policies and procedures
  • Understand what decisions or action an employer can take following an allegation – managing the risks in the interim

During the training you will be asked to take part in various interactive activities. To promote engagement, please keep your cameras on when working in breakout rooms to support interaction with the group.

Course materials will be available to download 10 days before the event. A copy of the slides and links to documents and further readings will be available after completing your evaluation.

Safeguarding training is of high importance and as a partnership we need to be satisfied that the learning outcomes have been achieved before providing a certificate of attendance. Any delegate joining more than 15 minutes late for training will not be eligible for a certificate and will be asked to rebook.
