Detail:

Multi-agency public protection arrangements (MAPPA) is the set of arrangements through which police, probation and the prison service work together with other agencies to manage the risks posed by violent, sexual and terrorism offenders living in the community to protect the public. This includes the responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of a child whose life may be impacted by the behaviour of an offender or if the child themselves is managed under MAPPA (Working Together to safeguard children 2023).

The Foundation course is for practitioners to gain a knowledge of the principles, purpose and procedures of MAPPA and covers the roles and responsibilities of agencies.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understanding the purpose and function of MAPPA
  • Identification of MAPPA cases and agency responsibility
  • MAPPA levels of management
  • Local MAPPA arrangements/processes

During the training you will be asked to take part in various interactive activities. To promote engagement, please keep your cameras on when working in breakout rooms to support interaction with the group.

Course materials will be available to download 10 days before the event. A copy of the slides and links to documents and further readings will be available after completing your evaluation.

Safeguarding training is of high importance and as a partnership we need to be satisfied that the learning outcomes have been achieved before providing a certificate of attendance. Any delegate joining 15 minutes after the start of training will not be eligible for a certificate and will be asked to rebook.
